दिल्ली के शाहपुर जाट में हर्किन कैफे नाम का एक अनोखा रेस्तरौं है जहां सिर्फ मूक-बधिर लोग ही काम करते हैं। हर्किन कैफ़े की ख़ासियत यहां काम करने वाले मूक-बधिर लोग ही हैं, जो अपने भोलेपन और गुणवत्तापूर्ण कार्यों से लोगों का दिल जीत रहे हैं।
इस रेस्तरौं की शुरुआत करीब छह महीने पहले विराट और स्मृति नाम के दो युवाओं ने किया जो रिश्ते में भाई-बहन हैं। दरअसल स्मृति की बड़ी बहन और भाई मूक और बधिर हैं जिनसे उन्हें इस कैफ़े को खोलने की प्रेरणा मिली, ताकि मूक-बधिर लोगों को भी रोज़गार मिल सके। कैफ़े में न सिर्फ व्यवासायिक दृष्टिकोण से ग्राहकों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण ज़ायकेदार व्यंजन परोसे जाते हैं, बल्कि यहां लोगों को साइन लैंग्वेज की ट्रैनिंग भी मुफ़्त में दी जाती है। कई तरह के सास्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी आयोजित किए जाते हैं।
