Kathputli Colony is the largest slum of artists in the world.  Street performers from nearly 4000 different streams live together here. The exhibit variety of talents. It is from puppeteers to magicians to folk artists!

These exceptionally talented artists are in demand both nationally & internationally! Finding itself on the wrong side of law, presently this colony is struggling for its existence. This Kathputli Colony inspired Salman Rushdie’s famous novel ‘Midnight’s Children’.

ख़ासमख़ास कठपुतली कॉलोनी

दिल्ली की कठपुतली कॉलोनी कलाकारों की, शायद दुनिया भर में सबसे बड़ी बस्ती है। यहाँ करीब 4000 अलग-अलग विधा के कलाकार एक साथ रहते हैं। कठपुतली नचाने वाले से लेकर जादू दिखाने वाले, या लोक कला के माहिर यहाँ मौजूद हर तरह के कलाकार, देश-विदेश में जाकर अपनी-अपनी कला का जलवा बिखेरते हैं। कानूनी पचड़ों में फंस कर, इन दिनों इस कॉलोनी के अस्तित्व पर खतरा मंडरा रहा है। सलमान रुश्दी की किताब Midnight’s Children इसी कठपुतली कॉलोनी से प्रेरित है।
