Raksha Bandhan : Bye Bye Drugs, Hello to helmet

Traditional festival of Raksha Bandhan has gained a modern positive hue for some sisters and brothers! Sanctity of pious thread tied on the wrist of a brother by his sister remains forever. There is a contemporary twist to the exchange of gifts. We know  dangers of drug addiction, smoking, drinking and unsafe driving is increasing. Sisters are seeking vows from their respective brothers for giving up those bad and fatal habits. Hats off to this new twist to the Rakhi festival!

रक्षा बंधन के पारंपरिक त्यौहार ने कुछ बहनों और भाइयों के लिए एक आधुनिक सकारात्मक रूप ले लिया है ! हालाँकि बहन के द्वारा भाई की कलाई पर बांधी जाने वाली राखी की पवित्रता बनी हुई है, पर राखी के बदले में भाई जो उपहार अपनी बहन को देता है, उसमें समय के हिसाब से कुछ अनोखे बदलाव भी आ रहे हैँ। आज जहाँ युवाओं के जीवन में धूम्रपान, शराब का सेवन, ड्रग्स की लत और असुरक्षित ड्राइविंग जैसी बुरी आदतें बढती जा रही हैं, वहीं बहनें रक्षा बंधन पर उपहार के तौर पर अपने भाईयों से इन बुरी आदतों को छोड़ने और उनके ही जीवन को बचाने का वादा ले रही हैं। राखी के त्योहार पर इस सराहनीय बदलाव को सलाम !
